The course registration website for the University is a crucial platform for a students’ learning journey. The objective of the Path@Penn redesign is to create a more intuitive registration process that leads to less confusion and fosters student confidence.

What is the problem we are trying to solve?
The University’s course registration process has caused confusion and stress for students and staff. I have conducted research to isolate the issues.

Users mentioned there were a lot of features and buttons they did not use.
Navigation features were vague and confusing.
Users mentioned there were notification and communication issues when registering for a course.
Users felt overwhelmed and did not know where to start.

Re-designed Path@Penn UX/UI Screenshots

Path@Penn Home Page includes consolidated buttons and reorganized hierarchy.

A tutorial video for Path@Penn is included as a bottom on the bottom right corner of the screen.

A chatbot is always available for 24 hour support to help users register for classes.

Button nomenclature has been updated to replicate a shopping cart experience.

Panels that show users what they have already registered for or added to the cart have been included on the right side of the screen.

Clear registration confirmation has been integrated into the pages.

Users can view there cart items at all times from the cart icon on the left panel.
